Beware of Mr. Eddie Falcon

Found out from the RV.net sales department that this fellow, Mr. Falcon is sending out emails to those who have RV's for sale on this site and that He's working a deal on buying their trailer. After receiving two emails from him through the RV.net service I thought I had a deal working on my trailer, but reading through his mail a couple of times, something didn’t feel right so I called RV net and verified that indeed he is a scammer... Dang, I even found a nice class A I wanted.....

RE: Video of Motorhome Fire in Deleware

Hope no-one was hurt in this motorhome fire. Check out the video shot by an I-reporter in Deleware. Watch at the end when the firefighters move to the passanger side and spray, looks like the whole windshield blows out. http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-60424?ref=feeds%2Foncnnhttp://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-60424?ref=feeds%2Foncnn

RE: helping sell a camper

I wont be as critical as wayne, but I do remember going to a customer that was nearby when I was thinking about buying and asking him about the product that I was looking at. As long as you werent to intrusive or rude about it, I think its fine. Problem with some dealers is that they will tell you anything to make the sell, even if they know full well your TV might not handle it. Now even more then ever with sales being so low.

RE: Fantastic Fan Questions

Not sure where the best place to located it, but they're real easy to install if you have any mechanical abilities. If you have a 12 volt light near You can splice right off that. I installed mine a few weeks ago, a couple of Hrs and I was done. The hardest part of the installation is cleaning off the old sealant... The instructions that come with the fan are very easy to follow.

RE: ALL Dometic recall consumers!!!!

Why would you spend years going after Dometic if you had insurance.. Maybe they didnt have it and the only recourse was to go after D.

RE: ALL Dometic recall consumers!!!!

From what I understand, over 900,000.00 units were included in the recall. Dont think they can afford to give everyone a new and improved version.. In my short time of being an RVer these Dometic Fridges are pretty darn good,. As usual the gov agency (CPSC) contacted forwarded to another, NHTSA since it's on the roads, sooooooo I forwarded there... concerning your statements, it's difficult for me to give Dometic a "pretty darn good" rating when in your own comment the recall affects 900K units. As for giving everyone a new replacement, perhaps if they had sold "good" units in the first place they wouldn't have needed the recall......IMHO, of course Did 900k units fail?? The "pretty Darn Good" statement that I made is made with the facts as I know them to be. I have not known or have met anyone in the last 10 years of camping that have had any fires attributed with their unit failing in the burner section. For that matter I dont know anyone whos unit failed at all except for those who have written blogs here.. So I think my "pretty Darn good" statement holds water. I think it is totally crazy to think that they can offer to replace 900 hundred thousand units when only a few are known to have actually caught fire. They took action to ensure that lives would be saved first. Now you can argue they only took that action to avoid law suits. Could be, but I appreciate the fact that I can now sleep in my camper without worrying about a fire in the middle of the night.

RE: ALL Dometic recall consumers!!!!

RV Dealer here, said that out of 60 or 70 he's performed the recall work on, 1 so far was actually bad and that failure was not in the burner area. From what I understand, over 900,000.00 units were included in the recall. I’m not sure what you would want the company to do besides what they've already done. Dont think they can afford to give everyone a new and improved version.. In my short time of being an RVer these Dometic Fridges are pretty darn good, when you really think about the environment and what many of them are being subjected too. Maybe giving me another free year of warranty would be nice. I will be extending my warranty next year, and I will run this thing day in and day out whether I’m camping or not.

RE: This isnt good...Open Road/Pilgrim shut down.

From my Dealer: Browns camping Jonesburo Ga. I am honoring all warranties on the units that I have sold. In the event that Pilgrim does not open back up, I will be offering full warranty on all products in my stock. I have been in touch with some of the people at Pilgrim, and they have informed me that this situation was caused by a bank that is trying to get out of the RV industry because they were backing Travel Supreme when they went under. Presently there is litigation as to whether the bank acted legally or not. Dave Hoeffer should be making an announcement this Thursday. All parties that I have talked to are positive and expect to be open soon, Pilgrim was operating in the black.

This isnt good...Open Road/Pilgrim shut down.

Please see other thread on this topic HERE http://www.wsbt.com/news/local/26419574.html ELKHART CO. — Another RV company is closing its doors leaving more workers without a job. A company official from Pilgrim International says they're temporarily ceasing operations at all their Elkhart County plants, effective immediately. He says the company is re-evaluating its status, but its goal is to re-open eventually. He did not know how long those plants would stay closed. An employee told WSBT News the layoffs affect 178 people at four plants in Elkhart County. Another company official, John Moore, said eight buildings total will be closed, though not all are plants. He confirmed the company is closing as a result of slow sales and the current marketplace. So far more than 3,400 RV workers in Indiana have lost their jobs this year.

RE: Oil prices still dropping like a rock, plus now speculators

I went through No. Dakota and Montana and saw all the new wells and expanded refineries. Biggest problem that I saw was Cheney's Hallburton name on many of them. Another thing I saw going east and now coming back west(currently in Illinios), is the large storage facilities for corn and soybeans for the ethanol plants. It is no wonder you can't buy corn, it is in these big storage bins. Cheney's Hallburton? Never heard anything when it was Clintons Hallburton in Bosnia? I often wonder why those that complain today about Hallburton didnt complain about them in the 90's when they won many over seas contracts... Maybe, if you do some research, you will find that Hallburton was the only corp suited to win the contracts...

RE: Poor Scout (sad)

The Lion survives today because We all felt bad for nearly destroying them all,,,Then after years of fighting to Save the Lion, we populate the habitats again, and then,...gather up a hunting party to kill the animal for doing what is very natural to them...I dont get that logic.
